Was originally a novel and has a manga adaptation in addition to the anime. Welcome to the NHK is not for the faint of heart, but it might be harsh medicine for anyone who wants to clear themselves of an anime, manga, or other otaku fixation. In mid-2006, Gonzo aired Welcome To The NHK, an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Tatsuhiko Takimoto; it was also adapted into a manga. I never thought I would read Welcome to the N.H.K. I have recently finished watching Gonzo's 2006 anime series, Welcome to the NHK, based on the novel and manga series written by Tatsuhiko Takimoto (which I have not read). Darkly amusing, surprisingly thoughtful, and at times almost painful to watch, Welcome to the NHK puts the 'fun' in dysfunction. Collection of troubles and problems we can meet in our life. A lot of it had to do with my general distaste for light novels. Like Gonzo's work on Speed Grapher. Come da titolo, è il romanzo di Welcome to the NHK. "Welcome to the NHK" is a kind of collection. Reviews, Synonyms: Welcome to the NHK. Many events of the novel (the fight scene, the visit to the church) never occur in the anime or manga, and vice versa (the "summer vacation", the entire second half of the manga). Tatsuhiko Takimoto's Welcome to the NHK novel was expanded into an eight volume manga series with Kendi Oiwa, which was in turn adapted into a 24 episode anime series by Gonzo. Originally written as a novel and later adapted to manga by Takimoto Tatsuhiko and directed by Yamamoto Yusuke (Keroro Gunsou) Welcome to N.H.K. A description of tropes appearing in Welcome To The NHK.
